Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Southern Indiana Report

Saw my first 2 Big Strutters Friday in Crawford Co. near Leavenworth exit, about 15 Hens and a half dozen Jakes sparring. The two big Toms were sporting 10'' beards and about 22 to 25 pounds, super looking even at 500 plus yards with binos.
I must admit seeing those 2 got me stirred up about the season coming up in 3 or so weeks. The hens did not seem to be interested yet, even though the guys were willing.
Did a little shed hunting in Lanesville saw a few birds out but none strutting. Got a real thrill kicking up 11 Whitetails and was surprised to see a 6 pointer still with antlers.

Hey doetrain! We're in Southern Indiana - we've seen 2 strutters. Some BIG ones too. We have about 4-5 with 8"+ beards. Lots of hens and jakes... It's getting me stirred up too!!! Can't wait!

I haven't heard any gobbles - have you?

I am also in southern Indiana. I have not seen any toms yet but they are always there. I did have 9 jakes on one of my trail cams about 2 weeks ago!

TG I have not heard them gobbling yet but a friend of mine in New Albany said he heard them last week near his house singing that sweet love song to the hens.

I was in jefferson Co. on Sat and I only heard 2 toms and a couple hens. But it was pretty windy. I put out some trail cams over the fields and known turkey areas.
