Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Suggestions/Advice??? If we are successful.

Hello to all - I am looking for advice on the best way to take a turkey back to Maryland from Wisconsin if we are successful? I am taking my brother on a hunting trip (graduation present) for turkeys in Wisonsin at the end of April. What is the best way to get the turkey home if we want to take it to a taxidermist?

We are flying Southwest, so I do have up to 3 carry-ons I could use between the two of us. Or should I fed-ex them back?

Thanks in advance!

Thumbs up

Well, four of us went to Texas a few years ago for Rio's. Two of us decided on having our birds mounted. So we went to a local Wal-Mart and bought a pair of lady's panty hose. We then cut them in half, (from the crotch up to the waist) and starting from the birds head, pulled the panty hose over the entire bird and placed into a freezer. That way, all the feathers, beard, tail fan will be perfectly intact. After it was frozen solid, we placed into plastic bags and into our carry on luggage. When we got back home, a trip to the Taxidermist was all that was left!! He told us that was an awesome idea!!! There ya go!!
