Is one tom and one hen enough for setting up decoys? I bought a Pretty Boy strutting Jake and Pretty Boy nesting hen decoys for this spring. If the grass is a little high, is the laying down hen too hidden by the grass? Should I have a standing hen also for this reason?
If I use decoys I use a jake and a feeding hen, if I want to set them in the breeding position I simply remove the stake and use a small stick on either side of the hen.
If your set up is in tall grass I would get a feeding hen also.

I've had good results with a feeding hen and a turning hen with one jake getting up close to one of the hens. Called birds out three times on three days with this set up. If you have wind set them up so the wind animates them a little, also I like making mine a little hard to see clearly until they get in close by then it's to late for them.
Pretty boy & pretty girl are intended to appear "ready" to breed.
Find an open area (as small as it may be) to place your set-up.
Conceal yourself +/- 10-15 yards away.
Movement is your biggest concern !
