Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey Vest recommendation?

Hey guys, its been a while since ive been on here. Good to be back.

Just wondering if someone can recommend a good turkey vest for me. For the last about 5 years ive been using a somewhat cheap Gander Mountain brand vest, and though its worked OK, id like to upgrade.

Ive been looking into the Cabelas Super Tat'r II, but from the reviews, even the smallest size is HUGE.

Im just looking for a nice, comfortable vest with an easy-access padded seat, something where i wont have to take the vest off to button it back up. Id like it to have a good amount of storage for my calls, in pockets that my calls wont fall out of like my current one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

I've tried several and the Super Elite 3 is the stand out vest! It's an excellent product, lay-out is about perfect and a much better fitting vest style can't be beat, especially compared to the lesser shoulder strap type models.

IL-Cornfed ..I've been looking at that one lately and that one seems to look nice. How is the seat on it? Is it pretty easily accessible?

One of the complains I read is that it doesnt fit a box call well. Is this true?

Thanks

I would suggest one with a self supporting seat. They have straps connecting the back support to the seat so you can sit up anywhere. It really does what it says, you can sit down in the middle of a brush pile with no tree and still lean back. Of course you rarely sit down in a field or anything like that, but you can tighten the straps so you don't slide down your seat if you set up on a slope. I'd also suggest one that has a seat that flops up inside the back and sticks with a magnet. Mine has all that and it's really convenient. Bass pro shop has some good Red Head brand vests like this. I've had mine for about 4 years now, used it HEAVILY and there's no wear and tear at all.

I have a Super Hybrid Elite. It's got a few seasons on it but I love it. It has the zip-off sleeves for those cool mornings. Bought an Ol' Tom last year as a back up but I don't like it as well as the Elite.

I use a Primos Gobbler vest that Ive enjoyed for several seasons now. It has a good pad, and plenty of call pockets. It even has a pocket made just for a box call. It also has the wide shoulders instead of the straps.

I prefer the Cabelas Max Tat'r. Lots of easily accessible well thought out pockets, and a thick comfortable seat.
