Do turkeys like the rain?

From my scouting, it seems the turkey didnt feed in the feilds or move much. my friend says that they do like it. Who is right?

From what I've seen in the past, they don't like it, especially heavy rain. If it's raining hard at all, they will simply just stand around and move very little. No feeding, no strutting, just hangin' out.

agreed, to a degree. I have found that the turkeys will continue to go out in the fields during a misty to light rain, but if its a downpour, the above stated is correct. They may not even come out of the roost. But if there is one thing they like less, It's the wind. Trust me.

In a light rain, they will feed and generally follow their normal patterns. If it is a heavy rain, they are likely to stay on the roost till the rain stops or slacks off. If they are on the ground and heavy rain starts they will generally just stand or hunker down under the canopy of the timber.

Rios will come to a dead stop, lay down, and lay right there till it passes...

I find fields are a hot spot when the rain lets up. If it's pouring though, they'll be hiding out. And if it pours in the AM before fly down and continues, they'll stay on the roost. I found that out the other day...
