Hey Wacker!
You bet I remember Chris' s box call. It is the one in the middle on the left side of my first post. It was a real good sounding box. I remember giving it high scores.
Chris was there also that day but Mike and I never got to meet him.
Another fellow I mentioned in an earlier post makes darn good calls. Dave Tyree from Eau Claire WI. His glass took first the year Mike and I judged. Tyree' s glass beat out Blodgett. Even though Mike and I both gave Blodgett higher scores. Tyree makes a dandy boat paddle too. To my knowlage Tyree dosn' t yet have a websight.
Mike ordered a Boat paddle from Tyree at the convention. Tyree put alot of time in this call for Mike. I guess he had it done once and decided the lid wasn' t good enough, and made a different lid for it.
.
Mike' s folks wanted me to keep some of Mikes calls. I sure charish them all.
This one sounds so nice I had to take it into the woods with me. It helped call in an old hen and her boyfriend.

The inscription reads (Hand Crafted for my good buddy Mike Luer. By Dave Tyree.)
Dave is a heck of a guy, Mike and I met him selling his first run of calls at the Deer classic in Eau Claire about five years ago. He is from Missouri originally.
He Must have been impressed with our ability to run a call because he was the one who got is the gig as judges at the convention. Mike and I also wondered if he didn' t expect us to favor his calls. We didn' t, But when His glass took first, Mike and I worried that some of the officals might suspect favoritism on our part. Judging at that convention was one of the most nerve racking experiences I can remember. Mike and I felt like fish out of water. We were just a couple of nobodies from Nowheresville. The call makers were able to watch your every move. I was sweating bullets the whole while. We got to shake hands with the big shot, Rob Keck. It was worth it though. We discoverd Blodgett calls and a lot of other dandys too.
