Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Which Owl Hooter?

I was wondering what brand owl hooter works the best, as in which one carries a long way? I just can't get the hang of using
my voice.

Thanks,

HS makes one.. I think its called a Palmers Owl Hoot or something like that. Grey in color. It works pretty dang good and is fairly easy to tote. Most of the flute style ones are large and not overwhelmingly loud. All you need is one real owl to participate and you'll get the whole parliment going.

I have two.IMO they're a waste of money.Get something you can use on other birds like a crow or goose call instead.

I have the Palmers hoot tube, and I love it. It sounds good and carries a long way.

Granted the quality of the calls went down a little bit when H.S bought Palmers Hoot Tube and begaun mass producing them but they still sound pretty good. I personally prefer the maple over the gray Lexan housing though. The sound in the woods sounds better than ANY other Hooter I've ever used.

Remember this is the call used to win more Owl Hooting World Championships than any other! The Palmers (Father & Son) still continue to dominate the Owl Hooting class at many N.W.T.F events!

Definitely the Palmer's Owl Hoot...sounds MUCH better than the Primos power owl and Mad Calls starfire hooter I also have. Those are the only three I have heard, and would say that the Palmer's is by far the best. The other two don't seem close to it to me. I can get a little bit better sounds out of the starfire hooter than I can out of the power owl, but those two are very close.
