Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default I am a meat hunter….

My buddy and myself were able to double up ( at the same time) on a pair of Jakes last weekend.

My SBE did all the work, not one pellet in the meat……hmm hmm good
17 lbs. 4.5” beard
14.5 lbs 5” beard

My grand pappy once told me “you can’t eat beard!”

Congrads..
They all taste the same!
Calling in and taking any legal turkey is a adrenaline rush.
To each their own...

No ya can't...... but you can get about TWICE the meat from a big ol' Gobbler than you can those 14 lbs jakes!

Or you can pass on them Jakes and not get another chance and get NO meat.

I'm with MO on that one! MMMMM Yummy! I was praying for a couple dumb jakes this morning for me and my brother-in-law!

As far as I hunt from the truck, jakes look awfully nice from a carrying aspect too!

well makes no difference to me, congrats on your turkey, but a bit of info to ponder on
1 out of every 280 poults survives to become a 2 yo breeding gobbler, you just raised the odds to 1 in 840 in your area.

The pressure is on when you only have 1 permit and 2 days to hunt. Actually, this double up on Jakes was one of the most exciting "Cut and run scenarios" I have been on in a couple of years. At least my bird was the 17 lb'er.
