A good friend of mine recently shot an Eastern turkey in N.W. Florida that had a 16 1/4" beard with 1 1/2" spurs. Some of the NWTF people were in the area doing events have already checked it out. I havn't talked with him yet, but will try to get more info.
unless something caused the beard to curl up where it couldn't be worn off by dragging on the ground I ain't buyin it. A gobblers beard will only get as long as his leg is from where his toes set flat on the ground to where the feathers start, the rest is slowly worn off from dragging the ground while feeding.

I saw a mount of the worlds biggest turkey it had a 21 inch beard
