My dad had to work today and I was'nt going to miss a oppurtunity to hunt so I got up early this morning and walked a mile and a half to a spot I have to hunt...I get out their and right off the bat hear one a long ways away but hes to far...so I set and listen for a hour and get tired of it and walk towards the house I get to a fence and ecide why not so I wale on the crow call and I hear a faint gobble,so i get in a clearing and do it again...this time I cna tell he's close...so I set up and I guess I over called caus eI walked out in the field and saw two BIG!!Strutter's in the middle so I walk back to the house and give them time to settle down..at 12:30 I head back again I walk into the field dont see em' so I set up my decoy's and call nothen 5 minutes later I call and they rattle the timber both gobbler's so I wait and I am about ready to call again when I hear em spit & drum so I think oh crap I was expecten to come to my decoys but they wnt to my left I'm a right handed shooter so its ok I swing the gun around click the safety off and they hear it so I pick they first one(not knwoing which is bigger)and shoot he hits the ground the other one is just right their not runnen but I thought to myself not a goodshot just wait either he'll run or give you a shot so he run's(fine with me so I wnt got my bird got home cleaned him etc...
What really awsome is this is my first bird that I called in by myself and first bird I shot while I was bymyself it was awsome.. I'm glad i let the other bird go this bird was hard to carry a mile and a half!
