Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Skunked So Far But ....

So far no shot for me. But having a great season. Plenty of time left to boot. Took my 86 year old dad and terminally ill brother out week ago. We went out 3 afternoons. Neither can make the early hunts these days. Just takes too much out of them. We saw a few hens. Heard a few gobblers. Got within 100 yards of a flock of birds with 3 nice Toms in it. But they were henned-up big time and when the hens left, so did the gobblers. Highlight of the hunt was my cousin took his 9 year old son out Saturday morning near where I had seen the big flock the afternoon before. Called up a nice Tom for the boy. Caleb killed it with his 20 ga. pump at about 25 yards. Had 9 1/2" beard, 3/4 " spurs and weighed 18 1/2 pounds. Don't get much better than that.
