Default Talk Sexy - Custom Slate Calls

Hey guys

I've been wanting to show you these for awhile - just haven't gotten around to it. A good friend of our's makes these custom slate calls. Not only are they beautiful - but by far - the best sounding slate call I've ever touched a striker to!!! He custom makes each one by hand. A laborious hobby that he's very passionate about!!! I hope you enjoy! If anyone's interested in getting one or in getting more info - pm me! Who doesn't LOVE Talkin' Sexy to a turkey???? LOL

Blood Wood

Lace Wood

Zebra Wood

I know the quality of these pictures could be better - taken with my blackberry...

Hope everyone has a safe and productive turkey season!!!! Counting down... 19 days for me!!! AHHHHHH!!! LOL

Just curious here -

What do you guys use to hold/carry your slate calls in? (during season and after) I use a ziplock bag and wrap my calls in paper towel - but didn't know if you guys used something different...

Thanks!!!

I found these online - has anyone tried using this to hold/carry/protect your slate calls? Under $20 - thought it looked really cool.

Avery makes a good quality friction call case. H.S makes a similar style as well but I like the tougher laminated fabric of the Avery version. They only run about $12 at Midwest Turkey Call Supply. Heres the link

Last year - a guy in Knox County, IN took the 2nd biggest turk in Indiana - using his call. The guy who makes these, his son took a double bearded hen with one last year too... Can't wait to see what happens this year!
