I have turkey hunted for several years now and I was thinking about what ammunition might be good. So I want to know, what shells do you shoot, in what size (2 3/4, 3, etc.) and how have you found they work? I shoot a twelve gauge that takes 2 3/4. Thanks BigBuck95
Since you stated that you have a 2 3/4" gun, don't be alarmed. They make great shells and chokes for your gun. Seems that the custom chokes will perform better than the standard full choke that comes with your gun. Just one suggestion: If spending the money on a custom turkey choke, get one that allows the use of Hevishot as well. This way you can try many different shells to see what pattern best out of your gun-choke-shell combo. The Primos Jellyhead seems to be a good one that allows the use of hevishot as well. Kick's is another awesome choke, but they don't suggest using any hevishot through their chokes. Winchester makes a great shell in a 2 3/4" lead, their 1 1/2oz of either #6 or #5's. Hope this helps you.
