Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Unusual/Creative Gobbler Taxidermy/Mounts That You' ve Seen

Here are some I would like to mention:

This past spring, I dropped off my gobbler at Tri Ponds Taxidermy Studio in Glenfield (near Lowville, NY). I saw some gobbler mounts that were very creative and unusual.
One such mount was of a mannequin of a 15-16 year old girl kneeling on one knee, dressed in hunting camo, camo face paint. Over her shoulder -a nice fat jake and her pump shotgun.

Another (at the same studio-displayed on the wall) was the very back end of a pickup truck with the gate down with a couple of nice " tagged" gobblers laying on the open gate. (A scene many of you have seen before I' m sure).

Blue ribbons aplenty in this studio!

Just the other day I was watching a hunting show about the NWTF Visitors Center--They had an outstanding display of a mountain lion leaping at a couple of flushing gobblers!

The most beautiful turkey taxidermy mount I' ve ever seen was of a Merriam' s gobbling. I think it was made by a guy from Minnesota, and I think it won some NWTF prize. That mount was absolutely lifelike, head thrust forward, mouth open like a tom gobbling, even had the feet positioned to make it appear to be walking. Just beautiful!! I saw it at a NWTF convention in MN, and think I saw it in a magazine, too. Wish I knew more about it, but I don' t. All I know is that I was greatly impressed with it.

Took This pic at a NWTF convention Mike and I attended a few years back.

I Thought it was neet how those two Gobblers were mounted in a knock down drag out battle.
.
