Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey Hunting Spot in South Florida

We have been visiting Big Cypress, about 1 mile on foot north of the Oasis Visitor Center (known as the Corn Dance sector) for three years now and we keep running into Jakes and Hens, even seen some fly-downs, however, we have yet to see a Gobbler / Bearded Turkey. Can anyone suggest a good roosting spot anywhere in South Florida were we can get to on foot?

Thanks,

Santi

I would say that if there is Jakes then there is Gobblers. The thing with the Osceola is that they tend to keep very quiet and seem at times to never be around. I have hunted places there that I have only heard spitting and drumming as a bird came in.

Expirence is important and just because a hunter can call well doesn't lay gobblers in the roast pan. Woodsmenship plays a large roll right along with all the other things to become a successfull turkey hunter.

I have a contact down there that spends the winter that would make a great partner on a hunt or two and would help you out if needed.

All the best in your quest...
