I screwed the center meat part of the fan to a 1x6x1/2 board that was approx. 2 foot long and then I put a screw approx. 10 inches out from the screw that in the meat part of the fan and then I just
spread the fan open and hooked the last feather over the screws that were 10 inches out-sorta hard to explain-you would have three
screws in a staight line 10 inches apart-the center holds the fan to the board and the outside two you spread the fan out and hook the last tail feather on each side over them and then I dad a 1x1x1/2 board nailed acroos the top of the fan to hold it in place.
I had it down my basement for 8 months-just gotta around to getting it mounted.
And no, I did not use Borax-I did use salt-probably use borax next time. Just one other hint-do your best to trim the meat where the tail comes together-not easy to do after it gets dried-do not ask how I know.
