Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Mossberg Turkey Shotgun

I'm looking at buying a new shotgun and have been looking at the Mossberg 930 field/security combo-5 shot. But I really really like the Mossberg 930 SPX Pistol grip-8 shot. So my question is has anyone tried or think you can use the SPX Pistol grip-8 shot for turkey hunting.

Where I hunt my magazine needs to be plugged for a max capacity of 3 shells (2 in mag, 1 in chamber). Can you shoot 3 or 3.5" shells out of the gun? Does it have a screw in choke system? If yes, I don't see why you couldn't use it for turkey as long as you follow laws regarding capacity and plug as necessary. I love my mossy 835 for turkey hunting, thats all the turkey hunting gun I need.

My gun, universal deer, turkey small game and rodent control (Couple bad years with coons, possums eating chickens) is a rather generic Maverick Model 88 made by Mossberg. It comes with a modified choke that throws a better pattern than the full choke I got for it. Forgot to mention game birds (Pheasant, quail etc) in the list. Guess its kinda low budget, but thats what I work around and it seems to pay. Though my 2 deer last year were both taken with the wife's 06.
