Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Sorry Team 11, I got skunked!

The season is over here in Missouri and I' m empty handed. I spent the first two and a half weeks trying to get a turkey with my bow, but in that time I didn' t even have a shot for a gun. So that is not an excuse. The turks just would not cooperate at all with me. Strangest year I' ve seen yet.

I wanted to make a plug for Jerry at www.StealthArchery.com . He sent me a bow holder to try out and I promised to give a report so everyone could hear about how it worked. With the season I had, the bow holder was used a lot It really is a must if you are hunting with a bow and out of a blind. The holder breaks down into two pieces so it fits into your turkey vest pocket easily, that really makes a difference when your carrying a bow, blind, and decoys. I liked the bow being up and ready for use. Even though I didn' t get a shot, I thought they were coming several times and I was glad I didn' t have to move very much to get the bow into position. If you bowhunt from a blind, you will be well served with a Stealth bow holder.

Phil

I got skunked when I went to Missouri, too. (I hate fences!!) Funny thing is/was, everyone I talked with/ran in to, seemed to be having good success, except me. I learned something with each day' s hunting in the Show Me State, however, and know that my Missouri failure will not be an annual thing. That' s why they call it hunting.

don' t feel bad ya' ll. we all get skunked now and then. I got skunked last year

Phil, how much for the fold up bow holder? I bowhunt a lot and that sounds like what I need. I made me one, but it' s long, heavy, and bundlesome.

I wouldn' t feel to badly, it can and does happen to the best of us. At least you had a chance to get out there and experience the great outdoors. Things will be different next year!

Humility is good for the soul. They say it builds character.
Real hunters get skunked .
