i shot a bird this year and decided to do a (cape mount) i think thats what they call it with all the feathers and the fan. anyways i salted it up really good but today when i checked it their were a few Maggots on it, i vacumed it really good and hung it inside..... is my Cape screwed? is their anything else i should do?

Check and see if your feathers are still tight if they are then you are still ok
Just go out and get ya some Borax
Rub the borax into the skin very well and place it flat with the feathers under and strech it out then store it in a cool dry place
" NO" excecive Heat or Cold
and be Liberal with the Borax!

What i do is i put some borax on the whole thing, and like brian be liberal. Put a plastic store bag cut in half over the thing and hold it up(the bag) with some fishing line with a hook on it so the bag dosent touch. Than leave it for 3-4 weeks and let it dry. If the bag holds up you should have a dry trophy.
