I was looking at the success forum, and all I can do is smile and be great full to be able to chase birds, and kill some. I feel so lucky to be a hunter, there is no better joy than this! Well, maybe there is but I have to yet experienced it (i.e. getting married, having kids, etc.), because I am only 18. I feel so lucky to have so many years left, and so many seasons to look forward to. I feel very lucky to have you elders, who have passed down the joyful experience. I thank you! Hunting has put much joy into my life. The last 9 months have been very difficult because 2 of my best friends passed away in a car accident. I would like to thank all of you, I have very much so enjoyed your stories! Your stories and joyful experiences have helped me out a lot, and stay cheerful! You have no idea ow much you have kept my spirit alive! R.I.P. Chris and Mindy!

Sorry to hear of your loss Nick, but your right about hunting, its a great thing to straighten out ones head. Sometimes I'll sit for hours thinking about stuff and will forget to hit the call even cause I'm working stuff out in my head, much better than laying on a couch telling someone else your problems in my opinion.
I'd hate to think of myself as an elder but its fun trying to help others out here, we are a community kinda like bikers or sports nuts, we will all help each other out when we can. Its a great thing.

Im sorry to hear about your friends. I've lost too many friends at a young age also. It just plain sucks.
Good post.Losing some goodfriends to car wrecks,Iraq/Afganistan war, other accidents...it makesme appreciate every day, and especially every second in the woods. Stay strong, your friends are in a better place.

Nick, you had a heck of a season and got to spend a lot of time with your brother. That's what life's about- family and friends. Cherish the moments you get to spend with both. As you've learned at a very young age life is pretty fragile. I'm sorry to hear about your close friends. I'm sure they knew what a good friend and great kid you are.

Ditto. I really miss times like these. I live 200 miles from my dad and 150 miles from the rest of my family and my old hunting grounds. I hardly ever get to go out hunting. You don't realize how good you got it until memories like these stop happening in your life.
Great post, Nick. You seem to be a great young man with a good head on your shoulders. I wish you many more seasons.
