Default Turkey choke

I have a 870 Express Magnum youth 20g for my son. I'm pretty blind when it comes to chokes. Can anyone suggest a choke for it or is one even needed??

Thanks

There are a lot of good chokes out there in 20g. I recommend a site call allaboutshooting.com the guy that runs this is a former world champ and sells chokes and such. I have the SSX by truglo on my 12g. contact him and he can give you a good idea what you might need. I would also look for deals on the undertaker, primo jelly head to name a couple that work. The best way to do it is by trial and error but that gets expensive LOL!

I would suggest the Primos Jellyhead. A lot of people recommended that to me for my Mossberg 835, and i have major improvements on my patterns.

By the way, Red Wings all the way man!!

You could waste the money on trial and error by experiementing with many of the chokes available out there.... or, you could buy the best of the best and be done with it? How about the choke that sets todays standards by which all chokes are compared?

2008 NWTF 1st place ALL 5 Divisions/ 11 Championships in 3 years !!!

Retained 3 WORLD Shooting records in OPEN, HUNTER and MUZZLELOADER..... thats consistent performance!

They don't get any better than the Black Diamond Strike from Indian Creek Shooting Sytems. You've got to check 'em out and see why so many have made the switch. I know we can't believe how much more impressive all of our turkey guns are shooting with this choke system installed.

You can also find them here as well,

Here's the 20 gauge Rem model

For economy and 30, maybe 35 yard range then the Primos JellyHead in .570 constriction along with Remington Hevi13 shells in size 6 shot.
If you were asking for the ultimate, and price was not a concern, then either the IndianCreek tube mentioned above, or a PureGold .555 choke tube in combination with the Nitro Company's H276 Hevishot in straight 7's would no doubt be at the top of the 20 gauge performance heap.
Here's a pic of last weeks target, using a 20 gauge Express, Nitro H276 3inch straight 7's. 40 yards with the rangefinder. 217 hits in a 10 inch circle, using the Pure Gold .555 choke tube.

I bought the same gun for my son and put a Primo's jelly head on it with outstanding results.
