I think it was reccomended to use 1 cup of white vinegar in a cold water wash to set the colors.

I not only set the dye in new hunting clothes with 1 cup of vinager but I also wash my clothes with the same. I have never noticed any odor after doing so and it won' t brighten out the color in the fabric.

I' ve been using vinegar with new clothes for about 4 years now. I treat all my new hunting clothes with it, even hats. Works very well.
