Please help with Magellan Explorist 500 downloading to pc

I am having the hardest time downloading waypoints from my gps to my PC.
The pamplets are no help or I just dont get it. I thought this is the perfect place to get some help from other hunters who have been there! I always injoylearning from other hunters here and helping out with info when I can.

Here is what I have....
I uploaded a tope map from my Magellan cd took it hunting and added way points. (My fav. roosting sights, strut zone trailsetc.)Now I need to download it to my pc. Please help

I am not familar with Magellan but do use a Garmin. My Garmin page has an upload and download icon.

When you download from the GPS to the computer I save it in a different name and also add a date.

Now when I get stuck I visit the Garmin home page for free patches and fixes for my GPS.
