Default Mossberg 835

What do you guys think of the Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag. in 3 1/2 mags. Does anybody have one, and if so, what do you like and dislike about it? I' m going back and forth between the Mossberg and a Rem. 870 Turkey Express in 3 1/2 mags. Any opinions on the Rem?

I have one, and I LOVE IT!!! it has done the trick for me, killed 3 turks so far, a deer, ducks, doves, squirrels, crows, you name it! no regrets at all.. It is also a tough gun.. I never worry about it messing up on me.. But it is just whatever feels best in your hand! Best of luck to ya!

I' ve never had a problem with my 835. It shoots a nice pattern with the factory X-full.

I have never had a problem with mine, but a buddy of mine had his barrel split on the fourth shot out of the box. He informed the factory, sent the gun back to them, and they replaced it no questioned asked like they should have done.

After ogling the 835s for years and reading and hearing nothing but good about them, I finally bought one at a very good price (new). Haven' t fired it yet as I' m waiting for some good weather to pattern it and sight it in (I added an Allen Turkey Taker).

I don' t have any use for the 3 1/2" loads, but I like the other features that weren' t on my 500. I have no doubt I' ll enjoy shooting it.

I bought a used one at a gun show. Put a Hastings choke in it and mounted a Simmons 2X ProDiamond scope on it. I shoot 3.5" Winchester HV #4' s. It is a real turkey thumper that will really reach out and touch them.

I guess I got one of the bad ones.I had nothing but trouble with it.
it would not eject a spent shell and reload a new one,it would close on an empty chamber.
cost me one turkey and one deer, because I snap on an empty gun.
I sent it back two times and they could not fix it.they just returned it to me.they said they would repklace it;but never did. so I got rid of it. went back to my 35 years old BPS Browning.[:-][8D]. it has never failed me in 35 years.[:-][:-]

I love mine! Never used 3 1/2" , but I love it! Use it only for Turkey, have it all camoflauge, maybe they will let me use it for Iraqis too!
