Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

i have to make a decision between a mossberg 835 ulti mag..or the 935 mag....

i rabbit and parterage hunt ALOT, along with shooting skeet.

i really want the 935, but does it have an overbored barrel? how does it pattern?

thanks

If you are a small game hunter, the 935 is not for you.

Mossberg recommends shooting ONLY 3" and 3.5" shells out of it. Of course you can shoot 2 3/4" shells, but I suspect the reasoning is that their gas system is fairly constricted and built with heavy recoiling loads in mind.... I suspect it would just have issues cycling the light loads and Mossberg was forthright enough to let everyone know in advance.

That aside, they and the 835s both throw great patterns with all types of shot.

The question is more do you want a semi or a pump? After that, its all the same gun....
Buy an 870

SwampCollie gave you some good advice. I would also add that the automatic will require a little more maintenance. I shoot Remington shotguns mostly and I find myself having to take more time cleaning my 1187 autoloader than I do my 870.

i had a 870 express, but ther was a few little things i didnt like about it. i found when a bird flies up or a rabbit takes off or something, it took me a sec to find the safety. the mossberg safetys are in a really nice spot.

yeah i settled on the mossberg 835 ulti mag. picking it up for $309 at walmart. getting a jellyhead choke for it to. should be nice with my hevi shot #5's

Depends on what size shells you plan on using. I'd get the 935 is you're not going to use 2 & 3/4's.

835 for the reasons listed above.

How are you liking it so far? I was looking at the same gun at wally world, also it can be had for no interest for 12 months if paid off by then.
