Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I hunted Canadian TX a few years back. I arrived in the second week , the birds were going great. The wind seem to be the only problem , so I found calls that you can get some volume with works the best...BT

I hunted near San Angelo for several years & we always went the 2nd weekend. It seemed to work out fine but would probably go opening day if
available, they seemed to always be gobbling good by then & have not been messed with. Usually lots of wind & sometimes hot (we were Southwest) Depending where you are going, I found a vest with a built in seat to be invaluable since there were no trees in some area & we would set up in a Cedar bush or something similar.

Good Luck!

I hunted same area as tomahog and hunted roughly a week later the gobbling was good but almost anywhere you go you will be dealing with henned up birds. the wind wasn' t to bad when I hunted we had most success in the afternoons when birds where split up or working towards the roost sites

I also hunted in the San Angelo area last season. We hunted the second week and had good success. The gobbling was decent but I believe it was better in the opening week by the pictures of hunters in camp before us. Amen to a vest with a built-in seat, you will need it. Remember everything in Texas either bites, sticks or pricks.

The first week in Texas has always been great. Have fun and watch for snakes.
