Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default TURKEY HUNTING

Well i do alot of deer hunting, but i am gonna try to take up turkey hunting this spring. THe problem is. I dont know the first thing about turkey hunting. I mean i know you use a shotgun or a bow, and you sit on the ground and do alot of calling. But my main question is, what call would be the best for someone like me that doesnt know anything about calling.I need something that is easy, and that is hard to screw up with .

THanks
Justin

Back during my first season of turkey hunting I was like you....didn' t know a whole lot about the sport. But with perserverance and 2 weeks vacation, I was able to take 2 longbeards using only a Lohman push button box call made of walnut. I rarely ever use it anymore but it served me well when I was starting out. Good luck!

Knight and hale makes a nice pushbutton call. Ive used it with great success. when i can find the name of it ill give it to you. its a green plastic push button call. i think its the lonely hen push button call. you can find it at most outdoor shops or anyplace that sells calls. I would highly recomend this call for you. Otherwise id use a box call. they are easy to use and produce good sound.
