Default Roosting trees

Im gonna be doing some more tree planting this year like i normally do. But this year I want to plantsome trees that I know in the future turkeys would like to roost in. Now i know I cant guarantee this but will plant them anyway. So does anyone know of any specific kinds of trees turkeys roost in? Thanks

Turkeys love to roost in pine trees!! They feel more safe there because they are a lot of branches and cover for them to hide/sleep.

We have three different roost tree's on our place that are all oaks if that helps any . I believe the location has a lot to do with it though more than what type of tree it is .

I think it is tree location and branch layout moreso than actual tree type. Trees on the side of a ridge, preferably over a creek or river edge, with long somewhat flat branches are like a gold mine around here. That could be maple, oak, sycamore, pine, etc. Most of the trees in my locations that are used for roosting are mostly oak and sycamore, but then again those two trees dominate the ridges that they prefer to roost on.

Location of tree far outweighs type of tree, here in the east anyway.
