Default turkey mount

hello all im new to this site.
i just got my first bird opening day here in canada.
and i am trying to mount the tail beard and spurs on a mount
i was wondering if i have to preserve the feet in any way so they donte rot. any help appreciated.

Congratuations on your bird! I've heard that you can just dry the feet and they should be fine. I've also heard that you could order something from a taxidermy supply store that you could inject into the feet and they would cure as well. I have a foot drying now without any other help than a little Borax on the top where I cut it off. Hopefully this should be enough. Good luck! Simp

last year i just cut them right above the knee joint and let them dry out. now they hang in my truck. just make sure your have the toes positioned in the way you want them.
