Its the second day of the season here in mid-Michigan and I shot a good one this morning! Michigan laws allow us only one turkey, which is fine with me, so my season is done until next year. Oh well. Anyways...had atom respond to my calls about a half hour after they flew down from the roost. He acted interested and thought for sure he was going to cross the ditch and come my way. Then he disappeared. About 2 hours or so later some crows were being loud and make a tom shock gobble. I hurried up and gave a few yelps to let him know of my location. He responded and worked his way in. I saw him about 250 yards away and quit the calls. He came in and luckily offered me a shot at 25 yards. First turkey I ever shot that dropped and didnt flop around. Possibly that new Jellyhead choke worked a little magic? Anyways, I'll try my best to get a picture on here.
