Default Question about hens.

I have heard about it, I have seen pics, But now I have seen it in real life. A strutting hen. but my questions is have any of you ever seen one of these take on your jake decoy knocking him to the ground? This happened this morning. and it was a sight to see.

Default RE: Question about hens.

I whacked a bearded hen about 20 years ago- I saw it had a beard and thought it was a hen - bout that time it fanned about half way out and boom I hammered it. Oh for you ethical guys out there - bearded hens are legal in Arkansas

Default RE: Question about hens.

they are legal here as well but 55 yards through some pretty thick brush is pushin it for my 1100. plus it wasn't my deke she whooped up on. it was another guy that was hunting an adjoining piece of property.
