Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Got my Gobber, posted pic

After a long few days of many mishaps (like much of turkey hunting goes) I finally got my bird.. I shot him at 15 yds with an 11-87 using jelly head choke and Hevi Shot #6's..

After chasing him half way across the county I finally set up on him in the woods and caught him coming out of a field.. He came to very soft calling and came slowly. But when he showed up he came in strutting which is just awesome to see that close.. After the show was done I took him at fairly close range.. They were pretty quiet and only gobbled for a couple hours early morning.. Tough hunting but persistance paid off..

Oh, and he was 22 lbs with 1-1/8 inch spurs and an 8 inch beard.. Taxidermist said he was 3 years old.. Beard had red tips (mites I think) and should have been a bit longer but I'm thrilled with him the way he is. Great Hunt and a great bird.. Good Luck to everyone else this year...
