Default Turkey Choke Constriction

I use a Mossberg 835 with the factory supplied turkey choke which has a .695 constriction with decent results using 3.5"Winchester Suprems High Velocity #5. If I wanted a tighter pattern and to reach out further which constriction size would you say to use?

I use a .670 out of my 835. I've also shot a .680, .690 and a .695. The .670 shot the best with every load I tried bar none... but it doesn't always work out that way. The 835 is overbored anyway, so its automatically a bit more open, so if you wanted to try a .665, then it might work out. My .670 shoots lead OK, but it really shines with the high density shot.... Winchester Extended range is what I shot for a few years until I shot some Hevi-13 this spring, and it blows everything else I've ever shot out of the water.

BOWHUNTERCOP, i shoot the same gun you do with what used to be the same choke tube (Accu-Mag UltiFull turkey) and like you, had decent results. I switched to the Jellyhead which I think is a .690 constriction. Im being honest, itpatterns MUCH better. I shoot about the same shells as you except I shoot the Double-X Magnums instead of High Velocity. Still 3.5"#5's though (2 1/4oz). Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this choke tube.

I'm with kdsberman. I think I've got a similar rig to swamp collies, an 835 w/20" barrel. When shooting lead, the jellyhead (.690) out perfomred the stock .695 and the pure gold .670. I wasn't happy with the results tho and when I finally got some hevi-13's I decided I was going to shoot exactly 2 shells, one 3" 2 oz #6 and one 3.5" 2.25oz #6 thru the jelly head and if the pattern was acceptable, that would be it for me. Well, the 3.5" shell put 165 pellets in a 10" circle @ 40 yards, so I quit shootin after those 2 shells. I'm thinkin thats a dead turkey if its in range. Now, maybe I can squeeze a few more pellets in there if I shot thru the pure gold with nitros or hevi-13's, but with my limited funds these days, I'm satisfied for now.
