Default Which Turkey Load Is Better?

ok guys, i asked yesterday about indian creek chokes, and i'm convinced. i'll be ordering one pretty soon. this is my question now. i normally shoot #5Federal Premium flight controls, but i read that the indian creek black diamond strike set the world record shooting 3" #6 hevi 13. the only thing i worry about is that the constriction for my benelli with indian creek is going to be .665, and i've heard hevi shot performs better with more open chokes such as a .670. i know that going too tight can blow your pattern, throwing huge gaps and holes in the pattern. so will i be safe with the hevi shot even with the tighter constriction, or are there any other loads that perform well with indian creek that you suggest?

Why dont you call the guys at Indian Creek - they probably know more about their chokes and hevi-13 than all of us put together.

Steve Conover posts on the NTWF board as Night Hawk - He could also answer your ?.

Hevi-Shot says .665 and larger, they said pattern can open when tighter than .665..
I use JellyHead .665 with Hevi-13 and it shoots awesome.. I don't think there will be too
darn much diff. between the .665 and .670 personally.. But if your worried get the .670 cuz I'm
sure it will do fine.. Or call them and ask for yourself, they do more about it than I do that for sure..

If Hevi-Shot doesnt work in that choke, try Winchester Supreme Double-X's. Awesome shells!

Bingo! A friend of mine called them and asked about their chokes and Steve recommended the BDS .660 (I think that was the number) with the Hevi-13's and his pattern is as good as my Jelly Head / Nitro 4x5x7 pattern.

I've tried rhino .670 an .660 in my SBE an Nova with Nitro 4x5x7 and the .660 has performed the best for me but the .670 isn't bad either.

I'd still spend a few bucks and pattern....no matter what anyone from anywhere told me. You only get one shot a year(in most places), take the time to be sure.

True, but some starting points are way better than others.
