I use it to add more realism at times - but let the decoy do the work mainly followed by hrn chatter.
Two ways - shaking a box call or my Red Wolfe Gobble call (shaker)

When all else fails, I will try a gobbler shaker. I've used them with some success. Most of the time they aren't going to make a difference. Just a suggestion, instead of shaking the tube, pump it. You can control it better that way. It actually sounds better by pumping it.
I'm thinking of using this call along with a gobbler decoy. My thinking is.....to sound off as soon as I hear the other birds gobble......and then shut up and wait them out (Bowhunting from a blind).
This area holds birds.....and I'm wondering if the decoy and calling "might" thwart off some gobblers. As a bowhunter.....any male bird is a legitimate target (for me).
I'm not a big fan of a gobbler decoy. That decoy could easily scare off other Toms and Jakes.....and since you are looking for a bearded turkey, this could cut your bird percentage down. I don't mind a gobbler call....but mostly use it for locating only. In my eyes, you can't go wrong with a hen(s) decoy setup.

I agree with Zubba. A dominant gobbler will probably come in to challenge the decoy, but most opportunities will be at jakes and 2 year olds. Not saying they won't come in also, but they are more likely to not want a challenge from a dominant bird and will go the other way. Like I said, if all else fails, then try a gobbler tube. You just never know how each gobbler will react.
I've used the strutting decoy (Primos B-mobile) successfully twice this year. I used it with hen calling. I'm still a bit nervous about attracting hunters even though I hunt on private land.
Lately I've been using a hen decoy stuck under B-mobile like he is breeding her. I think that looks more realistic now that the gobblers are hened-up in my part of the world.
Good luck
