Default Im going to try Turkeys for the Fist time tommorrow

and im taking a bow. Ive deer hunted at this place once and seen turkeys, and been told sometimes they see up to 30-40 at a time, supposed to be cold with rain and snow showers monday...30-40%

So how do you set up on a group of turkeys youve never hunted with the given situation? there is both field and woods jfyi. I really dont know how to approach this, and tommorrow is my only day to go for this week at least.

All that time to plan since last fall and you ask "How to turkey hunt" on Sunday and you plan to go on Monday.

First there are proper calls, arrows, specific broad heads and a lot of shooting and calling practice needed to be a proficient turkey bow hunter. The locations to aim on a turkey are different than a deer.

One should become familiar with the the safety and ethics of turkey hunting BEFORE entering the woods. This is the first place to start BEFORE you enter the woods. Also read you state hunting regulation book for information on laws, regulations, orange requirements (if any) and safety tips....

There is information or this site, if you refer back through the posts and usually some more information on the home page. One can also "Surf" the web for turkey hunting and find a ton of reading material, but you still need to learn to call and shoot well.

I would not encourage anyone to turkey hunt until they are proficient, knowledgeable and safe to and from others.

dude calm down im going turkey hunting for the first time tommorrow.... i didnt ask how to turkey hunt, that was a thread was a couple weeks ago.I know the laws and etc.... I asked how to approach the GIVEN SITUATION. The land is new to me, thats why I asked how should i approach it.

NOT, "Gee, im off tommorrow, i wonder if i can learn to turkey hunt?" Ive got the blind, black clothes, dekes, calls, bow, arrows, non-penatrating mech. broadheads, and till 12:00 noon to do it.
