Default Wisconsin/Iowa bird hunters....

With the season about a week away, I've been wondering how much their starting to talk. Heard a few reports of some starting to gobble, but with the warm weather....thy should be talking more.

Also, has everyone been seeing a lot of birds. I myself haven't seen as many around as past years.....kinda scared I guess that the rough winter might have took a toll on some birds. Anyways...just looking for an update.

There has been goodgobbling for the last 3 weeks here in Iowa, but very little after they hit the ground. I have been watching a group anywhere from 3 to 7 toms for almost two weeks now. Lots of strutting for the hens.

Can't wait! taking a youth hunter next Saturday to bust one,I know exactly where they roost and fly down.I am hoping that they will still be around come Monday.

I was afriad that this winter had gotten the best of alot of the birds down by my place, but the last 3 weeks I have seen more birds in the fields than any spring that I can remember. They are starting to talk, not alot but I do hear alittle when I leave for work in the morning. We leave for Nebraska on Thursday and I hope to getone with my bow up there and be back in time for first season opener.

I have seen the most birds ever this year, I had a group of hens and jakes, that was about 90 birds strong!

There talking around me, but there are still in there winter flocks for the most part. Shouldnt be long and the toms will start moving the birds around.
