Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Rain and open youth day

Tomorrow there a 90% chance of rain and we are going to try it any way. My son is really excited and has a good rain jacket. My question is more about decoys, is it different in the rain. Should I still use them? I have hunted in the rain many times but have never killed a bird in the rain. Any suggestions will be greatly appriated.

Find open pastures/fields.

From the begining of the day or later in the day. Should we go to the "normal" places first and then go to the field or start of near the field. We can only hunt until 12:00.

Set up at the field first thing. If you know where the birds roost and can get between them and the field - even better. Good luck to you and your son, we'll be heading to VA for the opener next weekend.

If you do get rain, head to the fields. Put your fakes out and call. But most of the time in the rain they will come and never say a word. Good luck and have fun....
