Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Shot Placement

This will be my first outing with a bow to try and bag a tom. I've heard to try to get a shot off while they are in full strut straight up their tailpipe; fan up. I suppose in theory that should wipe out most of their organs, or do you think a center mass shot is beter?

Default RE: Shot Placement

Generally if it is facing away and strutting aim straight up the pipe. If it is broadside shoot between the wing and hip joint just try not to hit around the breast plate if you care about the meat. Facing towards just below the neck right around where the feathers meet to neck. Its not sciencetific but thats what I go for.
