Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I wouldn't... they make a marking tape that you can wrap around the tree above you to mark that your in the area.
Most vests also come with orange flags sewn into them so that you can walk around with some orange out as you traverse the woods.

I agree with kingvjack, use some blaze orange on the tree, not yourself. I talked with a guy that hunts public land a lot, he took a piece of cardboard cut into the shape of an arrow, sprayed it blaze orange, and just uses a thumb tack to pin it to the tree. I guess he uses this even for bowhunting just so people know where hes at. Turkeys have great eyesight, check out this article: http://www.huntingnet.com/articles/article_detail.aspx?articles_id=558

When I hunt public land I tie a piece of blaze orange material in the tree above me.

I always wear blaze orange on my hat and/or on my decoys when moving but not when I'm calling. Putting some on the tree by you is a good idea.

Certainly never hurts to carry a blaze hat with you, as others have written, to switch on and off with your cammo while you are on the move.
