Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Poor Scheduling... don't let it happen to you

I like what I do for a living, but being relatively young and adventerous, I sent in a resume to the county of Henrico (home) here in Virginia when they posted an ad looking for police officers for their upcoming academy.

They asked me a few counter questions and did a quick background check and I have been offered/asked to take the entrance exam and the physical agility test, psych screening to be offered conditional employment (a spot at the academy). They sent me a big packet and all that stuff. Here is a quote:

Upon successful completion of the written exam, the physical agility test will be administered on the following date:

Saturday, April 12, 2008 0830 hours

If you live in Virginia, or any other state in the middle latitiudes of the US.... you should know exactly what April 12th is. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it was oh at 1530 (330 pm) hours.... but 0830 on opening day.... All I can say is I'd better have leather interior and satelite radio in my squad car if I decide to take the job.

Might as well make lemonade, the following saturday is my birthday... I'll get to hunt then anyway.

Can you hunt on Sunday, or is Virginia one of those crazy states that don't allow Sunday hunting?

To bad for turkey hunting....but it is a good problem to have. This about people on the opposite end of the spectrum....people without jobs. Most would give up an entire season to have a job. Everything will be fine.
