Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default How's my turkey spot look

This will be my first year hunting out of a blind (1st time with bow) but have hunted turkeys for 5 years now. I set up on this area that had 2 toms and 3 jakes last year and could never get thesetoms to come close enough. I do know that hens also roost in this area. The pink is the fence line, the yellow spots are the roosting area, the red is my blind and the green lines are the feeding pattern. Am I too far away and need to move closer? Should I try to move the blind down into the timber?

without knowing the scale (distance from blind to feeding line) i would say get right in there if u have a blind (not homemade)...don't get right on the line, but the closer the better but do make sure your blind is concealed well...put out some decoys and u should be good to go..

IMO i think if that is where they are roosting they will fly out towards that open field right by them.

I think I would wait until I confirmed that is where the gobbler(s) are roosting a day or two before the opener before I committed to area to set a blind...Often they roost in the same areas from year to year, but I would want to be sure just were they are roosting the night before if at all possible and that is the location I would be at daylight....

Then I would set up uphill from the roosting trees and as close as possible without spooking the gobblers.....GOOD LUCK......

After having to cut the sleeves off my under shirt a few years ago, a double roll of two ply in a gallon ziplock bag is a fixture in the back of the vest. If you position it just right in your game bag it doubles nicely as a lumbar support for the lower back

Your beer still ranks up there with Genny Cream Ale... No amount of good advise will ever cover that.
