Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Loads for a carlson ported

Hey guys. I've been using a stock choke for the last few seasons and finally decided that I want to give a ported tube a try. I just ordered a Carlson's Ported turkey choke. This is going on a Stoeger M2000. I've been shooting Remington Nitro's 3" #5's with a fair pattern using the stock non-ported turkey choke. Any suggestgons as to what to try first. I have some extra Nitro shells and I'll of course give them a shot. What about Federal, Winchester, or Hevi-shot. I'm sure everyone will say try them all to find out what works best. But I'm looking for a little direction before I spend another $50 on shells to find a good pattern.
Thanks

Brett,
I would really appreciate that. I don't mind patterning but I hate to spend the money on shells that I can't use because they pattern like crap. If I could narrow it down to 3 brands it would be much better. Right now if I bought all the brands I would be spending let's see:
Kent $8
Hevi $15
Winchester Super X$10
Winchester Select $15
Remington $7
Federal $10

About $70 I could use that money in so many other places.

You might save the $70, but you will never know for sure. Then of course some shot sizes pattern better than others....maybe better stock up on #4, 5, & 6 's of each brand...Let's $70 x 3= A lot....Don't you just wonder???????
