I REALLY like the old M.A.D. tape-style mouthcalls. Shippwreck in particular. The blue flipover one is my all-time favorite, but has been discontinued.
The red Shippwreck 2 is my #2 favorite, and the Metcalf Cutter comes in at #3.
The thing about these calls is not that they sound that great, but they fit my mouth so perfectly - and the kind of tape they use really seals well for me. Except for when it gets really soggy.
So, my question is: Are there any other brands of calls that use the same kind of tape or any calls that you guys have found to be comparable to any of these 3 models?
I swear, I must buy 30 mouth calls a year, and all of them go right out the window on the way home from Cabela's. I just don't like that slick plastic molding, b/c I purr and do a lot of hard cutting sequencesand evengobble with my mouthcall,so the plasticslides around too much. That thick medical tape really seals tight to the roof of my mouth and keeps the frame in place.
Here's a picture of the blue flipover ones, just so you guys know what I mean.
Also, if anyone knows where I can get a wholebunch of the Shippwreck over Inverted V calls - shoot me a PM.
