Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I find the birds like to get to the roost site early and usually i let them gobble by themselves.

Most of the time I get out in the woods about 1 1/2 hours before dark and sit somewhere where I feel they' ll be roosting a little later. In my area they normally fly up about 20 minutes before dark. I' ve been very lucky at guessing the trees they fly into. Even had one flock fly into trees directly above me. That was a little hairy getting out after dark without spooking them.

I like to go out just as the sun is going over the horizon. I take a crow call, owl hooter or sometimes a coyote howler, they all will work at times. If they are in a gobbling mood, it doesn' t take much to make them sound off and give away their positions. Do it from a safe distance as to not spook them off the roost. Once you have pinpointed their location, try to get back there well before daylight the next morning and set up.

I also like to get to my area farely early in the evening also so as not to disturb there normal routine to there roostsite! If I roost a bird I make sure to do what I can to determine which tree to grove of trees that particular bird is roosting in!It does me no good just to hear a gobbler at a distance, because in most cases I can accomplish the same thing in the morning! But determining what ridge, canyon, hollow,or grove of trees he' s in gives the hunter an opportunity to get in close,or headed in the right direction!Like TurkMan I also like to let them gobble on there own in the evening and hopefully listen to them wake up in the morning!!!
