I'm going to use a real turkey fan on my pretty boy this year, and my question is, do you think it makes a difference if the decoy has a jake fan or a fullfan?

I didn't really make myself clear in the last post. I really dont think it makes THAT much of a difference. Either will certainly work, and I have used both. Currently I am using a 2yo Tom's fan because it isn't as beat up as the jake or 3yo fan i have layin around. It is a perfect fit.
The jake fan, IMO, just SEEMS like it would be less intimidating, and therefore scare away less birds. It might be the body size of the deke that turns some birds away as well, who knows. This is the rare occasion rather than the norm when toms shy away from this deke though.
Either way, a real fan will look 10000000000x better than the plastic photo fan they supply[:'(].

Go with the jake fan .... most toms boss or subordinate will feel more confidant at challenging a jake no matter what part of the season is early , mid or late ... they'll pick on the jake.

I was kind of planning on using a jake fan because I kind of feel like it would be less intimidating, PLUS I would rather use one of my little jake fans instead of using and abusing a nice tom fan. ALthough as you can see, these two jakes weren't to affraid of my buddys pretty boy last spring with a full fan.

Sweet pic, and yea I don't think it would make THAT much a of a difference. But like you said, I would rather a Jake fan get mauled and abused than one of my precious Tom fans.[8D]
Everytime I see pics of the Matrix 360 i get jealous....LOL I want one soooo bad. Just trying to figure out what I can sell to afford one of these puppies. I'm honestly to the point of giving up one of my guns, just to have a quality blind to bowhunt from.[&:]I am 0 for 2 on picking out blinds, both of mine are subpar.
