Default need opinions from other experienced turkey hunters

i've been turkey hunting for a while now, but i'm considering a new product this year that i've never used. its an avery fastbreak ground blind, just a quick pop up camo wall basically andits about 25 bucks. the only thing is, i'm concerned it may stick outa bit in the woods.so is it worth the money or should i just rely on natural cover for concealment?

I don't know that one. A good, quick little stake up blind is a good tool. Sometimes I take one, sometimes I don't. It's more useful for bowhunting. I got one of those little 3 foot tall deals that was about 8 or 10 feet long. Then, I sharpened the ends of the poles with a grinder. That makes it easier to set up.

I don't think you can ever have to much Camo/Blind/Concealment from Turkeys.

The Question is do you want the Hassle of carrying it?

I went to this type of blind long ago and it taught me many things.

I found that sitting in this and placing it in shady areas any chance I could it did not bother turkeys. Your job with your blind is find areas that they blend in well - I even stuck a bit of brush and weed to help blend it in. I did many hours of comfortable sitting and shot a lot of birds using this. On those hens and jakes that came in I would practice putting my gun to shoulder and then placing it back in my lap. I practiced this all the time to see how much movement a blind would allow me to get away with.

This blind folds very easily and is carried in my vest. I have also put it up and draped it over a fence to give me a backdrop to hide my outline. Be creative it all works......

Here is the blind folded - each is as big as pictured above but in different Camo patterns so I can match early Spring to late Spring which is greener.

I made the mistake of buying the 6' x27" version, and while I love this type of blind, it's not enough material to cover the sides. I'd be sure to go with the 12' X 27" model instead. Asa matter of fact I'll be ordering one for myself for this comming season. Nothing worse than setting up, giving out a few calls, while waiting for a response. Only to spook a bird comming in silently from behind you as you reach down to pick up your friction call off the ground. I love the fact that these type of blinds block your hand movements, at the very same time of being very light to be able to be carried in the back of your vest!! While I never hunted from an actual fully inclosed Hunting "Blind", I prefer these types of blinds for their lighter weight and easy set-ups. I also use the H.S. Strut turkey seat, this works very well with this type of blind as well.

Maytom is correct - I bought the biggest panel blind I could find.

Now let's talk chairs - Youcan see the chair I have as I am an old guy is a low steel framed (busted the 1st Aluminum I tried - steel is the way to go) beach chair I just painted flat black. Using this and a Stearns boat cushion made me comfortable for those long sits at times.....

But the Stearns boat cushion has one other feature.

I secured an old gym bag strap between the cushion handles - this allows me to sling it over my shoulder quickly to take off after a bird if needed.
or I have this chair and I think this is the one Maytom was talking about - it has fixed legs as I did not care for the collaspable leg model.
