Which do you prefer, Pump or simi auto for turkey hunting?

Semi- Auto. Gas operated have less recoil.

Pump. Just because thats what i've always used. It's a mossberg 500 and it kicks like a mule.

I'd have to say pump. I like the relative simplicity, reliability and ease of takedown for cleaning. We hunt in some real crap weather. Also if I need to jump up and run after a bird after a shot, I preferan empty chamber.

I started some years ago with a single shot and went to a pump. So I would say pump for it's reliability. However I have gone back to a highly modified single shot. dog1

Pump...I shoot lefthanded so a Semi-Auto bounces the empties off of my nose...It hurts!!!

Deer coming into my treestand, a big non-typical. Setup is perfect. I draw back, take aim, and the pin settles perfectly on it's chest.....My thumb hits the release, arrow glides noiselessly toward it's target............then I woke up.....dang, another day of classes *sigh*
