Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Enough Days to Scout

So, while I am busy trying to plan my first turkey hunt, I found that I won't have a lot of time to scou. Going out a couple of weekends ahead of time won't happen. Anyhow, I was wondering if going out for a two or three day scouting binge(then hunting on the fourth day) would do the job.

Stuck,I've found some of my best scoutin happens durin the season.Sometimes, esp later in the season I'll go to a good listenin point if I hear a gobble I'll go after him.Other times I'll just do some run and gun huntin.I'll use either of these tactics in areas I know holds birds. Good Luck

Yes it can help a bunch and if you have time I would also suggest roosting your birds if possible!I agree with Jim also, often times through the course of the season toms can still be establishing territory and be very patternable!Keep in memory where your birds roost, travel, and strut, because down the road during your season knowing things like these can have positive results!! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
