Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Alabama Hunters

I have a good friend in North Alabama who wants to turkey hunt this year. He has been after me to come down and hunt so I thought I would go this year. He hunts mainly deer so I was wondering when the birds get cranked up down there as he hasn't kept up with them in the past. Do the birds work good the week of March 20th? I have to be back home for my sons first hunt on April 5th. What is a good time to come down? Thanks for any info.

Default RE: Alabama Hunters

I have hunted Alabama early. Like most places they are henned up, but they also are easier to call early. If it is a year with a lot of 2 year old birds then you should have plenty of good hunting. If it is older birds then prepare to sit and wait trying to call hens in with gobblers behind them.
